PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having a large capacity, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: The solid electrolytic capacitor has: an anode body 3 composed of a sintered compact of a metal particle; an anode lead 2 buried in the anode body 3; a dielectric layer 4 provided on the surface of the anode body 3; and a conductive polymer layer 5 provided on the surface of the dielectric layer 4. The anode body 3 contains: a first anode section 3a provided around a buried section 2a of the anode lead 2; and a second anode section 3b provided while covering the first one 3a.
