PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil-based paving material which is high in strength, permeability, and durability, does not mar the natural landscape, hardly interferes with growth of trees around the same, prevents infestation of weed, contributes to reuse of earthenware shells, and achieves cost reduction, and to provide a method of laying the soil-based paving material. SOLUTION: The soil-based paving material 10 is obtained by mixing decomposed granite 11 (53.4 wt.%), earthen shell recycled aggregate 12 (37.0 wt.%), and a hardener 13 (9.6 wt.%) with each other. Therefore the paving material is high in strength, permeability, and durability, does not mar the natural landscape, hardly interferes with growth of trees around the same, prevents infestation of weed, and contributes to reuse of earthen ware shells of industrial waste.
