An apparatus and a method for removing an interference signal in an ECG remove electrical interference from a biomedical signal by removing one or more harmonic interference signal and a primary interference signal from an original ECG signal. At least, an average signal is sampled from a first ECG electrode by the digital method. An average interference frequency is determined. At least, the original ECG signal (raw ECG signal) is sampled and buffered from the second ECG electrode by the digital method. A residual signal is generated by filtering the original ECG signal. A first phase shift and a first amplitude of the primary interference signal at the average interference frequency are calculated based on the residual signal. A second amplitude and a second phase shift of one or more harmonic interference signals are calculated in each multiple of each average interference frequency. One or more harmonic interference signals and a primary interference signal are subtracted from the original ECG signal by the digital method to generate and output a clean ECG signal.
