PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection switch capable of eliminating a leakage current in an OFF state while a voltage drop in an ON state is made less than heretofore, and capable of being used by conneciting a larger number of detection switches in series. SOLUTION: The detection switch 1, which includes a sensor 11 performing ON/OFF operation on detecting variation in external physical quantity in a casing and is configured to be used while a power source and a load are connected in series, comprises: a voltage generation circuit 12 which is connected in series with the sensor 11 and generates a first voltage V1 with a current flowing when the sensor 11 turns ON; a voltage boosting circuit 13 which boosts a first voltage output from the voltage generating circuit 12 and outputs a second voltage V2; and a light emission diode LED connected to emit light in response to application of the second voltage.
