PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper structure of an automobile, which stably absorbs impact energy since the upper wall part end side of a crash box is prevented from being deformed upward at the time of collision by reinforcing the upper part side of the crash box without increasing the number of parts. SOLUTION: This bumper structure of an automobile comprises a bumper reinforcement 18 having: a pair of left and right crash boxes 9 having base ends attached to the end of a side frame 8; and a beam part 13 linking the ends of the crash boxes 9 to each other, wherein the vertical center c1 of the beam part 13 is offset upward to the vertical centers c2 of the crash boxes 9. The crash box 9 is formed of a side wall part 10 and an upper wall part 12 formed of different members X, Y, respectively. Flange parts 12a folded upward are so formed on both sides of the upper wall part 12 as to extend in the longitudinal direction. The flange parts 12a are joined to the side wall part 10, and the ends of the flange parts 12a are connected to the beam part 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
