PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a run flat tire remarkably improved in durability in run flat travelling without hindering riding comfort in ordinary travelling, and improved in tire uniformity. SOLUTION: This run flat tire comprises a side reinforcing rubber layer 5 along the inner surface of a carcass ply 4. The carcass ply cord contains at least 50 mass% of polyketone fiber, and has 0.1-1.8 cN/dtex of the maximum thermal compression stress as a dipped cord. A belt 8 is a cross belt formed by laminating at least two rubber coated cord layers, which are respectively formed by embedding multiple cords in a covering rubber, so as to be extended in parallel with each other inside the layer and so as to cross each other and extend opposite to each other on both sides of a tire equator line between adjacent layers.
