<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a plurality of kinds of data capacities are present in a mixing state when data is held for each kind of components of a system, and that its holding and management is complicate. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of display regions R1-R16 are specified on a display screen 100a of the printer. Bit map data are stored while related to each other for each of the display regions R1-R16. When bit map images are displayed one by one on the display screen 100a, the images can be displayed as a form image imitating a form of the whole of the system when these are synthesized.
