PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel selection information transmitting apparatus capable of more accurately collecting view information, even if there is eccentricity or the like in view channels, while suppressing useless facility layout.

SOLUTION: The channel selection information transmitting apparatus transmits to a view information receiving server channel selection information notifying a channel of the broadcast signal selected by a user. The channel selection information transmitting apparatus includes: a channel change detecting means for detecting a change of the channel; a transmission waiting time acquiring means for acquiring a transmission waiting time from timing of the channel change to transmission of the channel selection information relating to the change of the channel; and a transmission means for transmitting the channel selection information after the lapse of the acquired transmission waiting time.
