<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying an excellent image with a simple structure; and a backlight device. <P>SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device displaying an image on a liquid crystal display element 1 by illuminating the liquid crystal display element 1 from the side of a backlight housing 4 arranged on the rear side of the liquid crystal display element 1, the backlight housing 4 is provided with a fluorescent lamp 3 emitting white light in a linear shape, and a bar-like light guide body 6 emitting a laser beam from a red laser light source 5 by forming it into a linear or planar shape. The backlight housing 4 illuminates the liquid crystal display element 1 by the liner white light emitted from the fluorescent lamp 3 and by the linear or planar laser beam emitted from the bar-like light guide body 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
