THERMOMAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording magnetic film having satisfactory high density recording characteristics by a thermomagnetic recording system and high saturation magnetization in room temperature and thereby capable of performing playback of high resolution/high output by a magnetic sensor such as an MR head. SOLUTION: At least two or more magnetic layers including a first magnetic layer whose recording characteristics are optimized for the thermomagnetic recording system and a second magnetic layer whose playback characteristics are optimized by heightening saturation magnetization in room temperature are used and these magnetic layers are magnetically exchange-coupled in at least room temperature to form the recording film. A magnetic layer adjacent to the first magnetic layer is made to lose magnetism in a recording temperature, so that recording characteristics of the first magnetic layer is not affected by the second magnetic layer.
