PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce moving image data recorded discontinuously on a recording medium seamlessly using a buffer in which accumulable data quantity is restricted. SOLUTION: A reproducing device is provided with: a read means for reading data recorded in a recording medium; a data reproducing means for reproducing data read from the recording medium by the read means, a buffer means storing moving image data in data reproduced by the data reproducing means in the buffer; and a read control means in which the read operation of the read means is controlled so that when the buffer means stores the moving image data in the buffer, the accumulation quantity of the buffer becomes full when the read means accesses the recording medium for (n) times (n denotes an integer), and start of seek to the recording position of a stream of the moving image data reproduced next can be quickened.
