PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove a region facing a terminal part, in a second substrate base material. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display includes a crack formation step of forming cracks which are disposed so as to sandwich regions 28 of a second substrate base material 20, facing terminal parts 12 with respect, to the second substrate base material 20 and respectively pierce the second substrate base material 20; and a removing step of removing the regions 28 of the second substrate base material 20 interposed in between the pair of cracks 24. In the crack formation step, the pair of cracks 24 are formed so that a gap in between is fixed or is made narrower from a surface on the side opposite to a first substrate base material 10 going toward the first substrate base material 10.
