PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary boiler having a structure capable of protecting a tube plate of an upper part of a furnace from being overheated in the case that an exhaust gas economizer and the auxiliary boiler are installed separately. SOLUTION: The auxiliary boiler 1 comprises an upper drum 20 in which gas-liquid separation is performed, a lower drum 21, a plurality of water tubes 23 for connecting the upper drum 20 to the lower drum 21, a burner 15 for combustion in the furnace 16 surrounded by the upper drum 20, the lower drum 21, and the water tubes 23, a scroll plate 40 which is a partitioning plate for partitioning boiler water installed in the upper drum 20, and a circulating water return tube 51 for returning circulating boiler water to near the center inside the upper drum 20.
