PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a mounting space for an electric compressor 100. SOLUTION: In the electric compressor 100, a large-sized capacitor 405 or the like is arranged on a side opposite to an engine 300 with respect to a virtual plane H, out of electronic parts constituting a drive circuit K of an inverter device 200. An inverter housing 200a of the inverter device 200 is offset to the opposite side of the engine 300 with respect to the virtual plane H. Therefore, the inverter device 200 is unobtrusive when a radially outer end part 10a of a compressor housing 10 is put into a recess part 300a of a side wall of the engine 300. The compressor housing 10 is fixed to the side wall of the engine 300, while the radially outer end part 10a of the compressor housing 10 is put into the recess part 300a of the side wall of the engine 300.
