摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control the internal state of a pressure accumulation container, in an energy recovery device having an exhaust throttle valve provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and the pressure accumulation container communicating with an upstream side of the exhaust throttle valve in the exhaust passage. SOLUTION: In energy recovery device, an exhaust throttle valve 56 is opened when predetermined conditions for energy recovery are satisfied. A flow control valve 66 is also opened when the pressure in the upstream side of the exhaust throttle valve 56 exceeds the internal pressure of a pressure accumulation container 64. On the other hand, if unnecessary gas exists in the pressure accumulation container 64 when energy recovery is started, a discharge valve 76 is opened to discharge the gas. Discharge of unnecessary gas from the pressure accumulation container is therefore urged as being pushed out by gas reaching the pressure accumulation container 64 from an exhaust passage 28.
