PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of restraining deterioration in emission and the operational deterioration in a functional component in a cylinder caused when a combustion stroke is not normally finished in any cylinder of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: When detecting that the combustion stroke of any cylinder of the internal combustion engine is not normally finished by a misfire (S102), the ignition timing is advanced forward more than MBT in the combustion stroke after its cylinder, and a peak value of the temperature in the cylinder is raised (S103), to thereby promote oxidation or vaporization of fuel remaining in the cylinder of causing the misfire.
