PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in a lap of a turning scroll, the generation of a temperature gradient in the thickness direction provides a difference in thermal expansion between the inner peripheral side and the outer perpheral side of the lap to thereby form a gap or to cause contact at the tip of the lap. SOLUTION: Taking into consideration the temperature gradient in the thickness direction generated on the lap 13b of the turning scroll 13, forming a step 35 at the upper surface of the lap 13b with respect to the thickness direction of the lap enables to absorb a dimension change caused by thermal expansion without forming an excess gap at the tip of the lap 13b.
