PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dewatering device of a thermoplastic resin strand for efficiently dehydrating or removing cooling water adhering to a surface of a strand group, and to provide a manufacturing method of a thermoplastic resin pellet using the dewatering device. SOLUTION: In the dewatering device M of the strand for dewatering the strand group S that was made by continuously forming the thermoplastic resin into a strand shape followed by cooling, a laminar flow of compressed air is blown from upper and lower sides so that the air collides with each other on the same working surface, and the strand group passes through the collision area of the compressed air blown from the upper and lower sides on the working surface.
