A dentifrice composition comprises a watersoluble monofluorophosphate and a waterinsoluble compatible polishing material which comprises a mixture of alumina and insoluble alkali metal metaphosphate, the weight of alumina being in excess of that of the metaphosphate. A small proportion of an alkaline earth metal phosphate (e.g. 0.5 to 5.0 % by weight) may also be present. The composition may contain other conventional ingredients, e.g. surfactants, antibacterials, humectants and flavours. They are said to be stable and may be stored in unlined aluminium tubes.</p> |
