METHOD FOR PRODUCING NORZOANTHAMINE AND UTILIZATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate the mechanism of actions of norzoanthamine which is a marine alkaloid.

SOLUTION: The norzoanthamine obtained by isolation of a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus funmigatus symbiotic with a cnidarian Zoanthus sp. and culturing thereof has actions for increasing the bone strength and bone weight of a model mouse for osteoporosis to increase the apparent amount of collagen in a bone-related cell.
