<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for assaying cell response to a medicament, and to provide a chip for the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for assaying cell response comprises microelectrodes, capable of assaying the electrical condition change of only single cell placed on a chip; a cell-nonadhesive wall encircling the microelectrodes so as to locate the cell on the microelectrodes; a layer filled with a cell culture solution; a mechanism for refluxing the cell culture solution and adding, as necessary, a medicament thereto, annular reference electrodes located above the microelectrodes; a mechanism for measuring and recording cell potential which uses both the microelectrodes and the reference electrodes; and a mechanism for optically measuring the conditions of the single cell placed on the chip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
