PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image inspection device and an image inspection method for achieving objective inspection, and for shortening a processing time, and for automating inspection, and for accurately detecting non-uniformity. SOLUTION: This image inspection device includes a white balance processing means for performing white balance processing to the image data of an inspection-target image whose image non-uniformity is inspected; a conversion means for converting the image data to which the white balance processing has been performed into an L*a*b* color system; a comparison means for comparing the converted image data with preliminarily prepared reference image data; and a calculation means for calculating featured values as a difference between the image data and the reference image data after comparison.
