PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor-discharge ignition device for an internal combustion engine capable of surely stopping the internal combustion engine when it is necessary according to operation of a stop switch. SOLUTION: The capacitor-discharge ignition system 10 for the internal combustion engine provided with at least a primary coil connected to a capacitor 14 charged by output of a power generating coil 12, a microprocessor 22 turning on a switching element 20 inserted in an electricity carry passage 18 to the primary coil at predetermined crank angle and making the primary coil discharge electrical charge in a capacity, a spark plug 24 igniting with high voltage generated in a secondary coil with accompanying completion of electrical discharge to the primary coil, is provided with an engine stop switch 30 provided at a position where the same can be operated by an operator and inputting stop instruction signal to the microprocessor when the same is turned off.
