PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox capable of mitigating unpleasant metal sound and impact sound generated when opening and closing a take-out door without damaging a front surface panel provided on the take-out door, and preventing damages due to impacts. SOLUTION: The mailbox is constituted so that a take-out port 2 for taking out mail is formed on the front surface of a mailbox body 1, and the front surface panel 5 is connected and fixed, with a certain space, at the front part of the lower opening type take-out door 4 for opening and closing the take-out port. A damper 6 is disposed at least one of the left and right edge parts 21b and 21a of the take-out port 2, the back surface lower end part 41 of the take-out door 4 is brought into contact with the buffer shaft 61 of the damper 6 as the take-out door 4 is opened, and the take-out door 4 is gently opened by the buffer power of the damper 6.
