<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of failures in image formation by suppressing a casual change of toner concentration in a developing device, even if image-forming processing is repeatedly interrupted by power failures or paper jams in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the developing device 8 for receiving two-component developer comprising toner and carrier, with a two-component system in which the toner is supplied from the developing device 8 to a photoreceptor drum 5 through the carrier. The developing device 8 includes a carrier-supplying unit 27 for supplying the carrier. A controller 46 for controlling the carrier supplying unit 27 counts interruption due to failures in the image-forming processing, and stores the frequency of interruption in a nonvolatile flash memory 73. When the frequency of interruption reaches a predetermined frequency, the apparatus drives the carrier-supplying unit 27 and supplies the carrier to the developing device 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
