PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that when minute dust being not trouble hitherto is held between a slider and a disk due to reduction of magnetic spacing, damage is given to the both. SOLUTION: A magnetic head slider 100 is an almost rectangular parallelepiped, and is provided with an air flow-in end 102, an air flow-out end 104, and a floating plane 106. The floating plane 106 is provided with a flow-in side step plane 4, a flow-in side floating plane 2, a flow-out side floating plane 1 provided with a magnetic head 108, a flow-out side step plane 3, a recess plane 7, and projection pads 8, 9 formed at the flow-in side floating plane 2, and grooves 10, 11 are formed at the projection pads 8, 9. Dust 24 entered from the air flow-in side is collected at a level different part of the flow-in side step plane 4, a level different part of the flow-in side floating plane 2, and edges of a plurality of grooves 10, 11 provided at the projection pads 8, 9 in accordance with its size, and they become hard to move to the flow-side.
