<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting fixture which has a reflector made of a translucent member and is capable of forming a laterally long light distribution pattern with less light distribution irregularity. <P>SOLUTION: The interior surface 14a of the reflector 14 is formed into a curved surface that reflects light from a light source 12a in a direction approximately parallel with an optical axis Ax in reflection in the vertical direction and in a direction of approaching the light axis Ax in reflection in the horizontal direction. This forms a laterally long light distribution pattern. The exterior surface 14b of the reflector 14 is composed of a plurality of projecting stripes 20 that extend almost radially with respect to the optical axis Ax to work as a total reflection prism. Each projecting stripe 20 is so formed as to extend in curve outwardly in the radial direction to go away from a horizontal plane including the optical axis Ax relative to a straight line L extending from the optical axis Ax in the radial direction. As a result, a light distribution pattern formed of reflection light from the exterior surface 14b is also formed into a laterally long light distribution pattern with less light distribution irregularity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
