PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for a construction machine, for a driver's seat, provided with a shock absorbing means in a longitudinal direction capable of protecting a driver by reducing vibration and impact generated in a longitudinal direction by driving of the shock absorbing means. SOLUTION: The seat for the construction machine provided with the shock absorbing means is provided with a lower plate member mounted onto a suspension plate; an upper member installed on the lower plate member and attached slidably in a longitudinal direction; the shock absorbing means for reducing impact and vibration generated in the longitudinal direction by relative motion of the upper plate member relative to the lower plate member; a hinge shaft having both ends fixed to a rear part of a console box; a drive shaft having both ends fixed to a front part of the console box; and a tilt means including an adjustment handle for adjusting height of the console box by a rotation direction. At main work mode, shock absorbing function is exhibited by movement in a longitudinal direction of the upper plate member relative to the lower plate member, and at release of the main work mode, the shock absorbing function is released by locking the movement in the longitudinal direction of the upper plate member relative to the lower plate member.
