PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image processing techniques for performing color conversion of high precision without increasing the file size of an image. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus has a color conversion means of performing color conversion on image data, a generating means of generating first color conversion data and second color conversion data having higher precision than the first color conversion data based upon parameters used for the color conversion, a storage means of storing the generated first and second color conversion data, and a comparison means of comparing the first color conversion data stored in the storage means with color conversion data stored in an image file, and the conversion means performs the color conversion using the second color conversion data when the same data as the color conversion data stored in the image file are available in the storage means and performs the color conversion using the first color conversion data stored in the image file when not available.
