PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high sensitivity by using a compound having a specified structure as an electron transporting agent. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing at least an electron transporting agent, a charge generating agent and a binder resin on a conductive substrate, wherein the electron transporting agent is a compound expressed by formula (1). In formula (1), X represents an oxygen atom or a substituent expressed by formula (1a):N-Ar. In formula (1a), Ar represents a benzene ring which may have a substituent, a condensed aromatic ring which may have a substituent, a heterocycle which may have a substituent, or a condensed heterocycle which may have a substituent.
