METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ALLOCATING RESOURCE IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for assigning resources in a communication system and a system therefore are provided to efficiently use system resources by distributing loads of each FA. A resource assigning method of a paging controller in a communication system comprises the following steps. The resource consumption status information for showing the amount of resource consumption by each FA(Frequency Allocation) is received from each base stations within a paging group(601). The paging group in which the mobile terminal is positioned is confirmed to perform the location update of the mobile terminal operating in the idle(603). An FA in which the amount of resource consumption is most relatively small is assigned to the mobile terminal correspondingly to resource consumption status information of each base station within the paging group in which the terminal is positioned.
