[Also in Division C3] Glass may be coated with compositions comprising epoxidised copolymers of an α- olefin and a non-conjugated hydrocarbon diene containing 6 to 22 carbon atoms, said copolymer being prepared by epoxidising 10 to 90 per cent of the carbon-carbon double bonds in a copolymer containing 2 to 3 moles of double bonds per kilogram, to provide hard transparent coatings. Preferred copolymers are of ethylene with dicyclopentadiene, 1, 5- cyclooctadiene, 5-methylene-2-norbornene or 1, 4-hexadiene, epoxidised with perbenzoic or peracetic acid. The - copolymers may applied from organic solvent solution or aqueous dispersion. |
