<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound reproducing system which has an expanded listening range wherein center sound image localization is obtained and also can have a center speaker united with a front speaker system. <P>SOLUTION: The sound reproducing system includes first speaker units 12 and 15 which are installed symmetrically about a listening center axis and radiate sounds inward, and second speaker units 13 and 16 which radiate sounds forward or outward, and are equipped with first and second processing units which process a center channel signal as signals for the first and second speaker units respectively, a front channel signal being superposed on an output signal of the second processing unit. The first processing unit has an HPF 31 and a first high shelf block 32 which increases a high-frequency component, and the second processing unit has an LPF 36, and a low shelf block 34 and a second high shelf block 35 which attenuates low- and high-frequency components respectively. Center channel reproduced sounds arriving from the first and second speaker units closer to a listening position attenuate each other in an intermediate-pitch range because of a phase difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
