<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a membrane-electrode assembly in which a catalyst layer, wherein a carbon-particle material carrying a catalyst metal is dispersed in a condensation-free state and in a uniformly and quantitatively controlled state, is bonded and integrated on the surface of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane without an interface between them. <P>SOLUTION: In a membrane-electrode assembly 50, a catalyst layer 31 includes a complex 30 in which a carbon-particle material 10 carrying a catalyst metal is dispersedly arranged around an electrolyte resin 20. Further, a melt-bonded part is formed by the melt-bonding of the electrolyte resin 20 and an electrolyte resin forming a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 40. An F-type electrolyte is used for the electrolyte resin. The complex 30 can be obtained by stirring the carbon-particle material and the electrolyte resin in a supercritical fluid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
