<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing program for providing information about optional devices installable in an apparatus such as a printer that can provide user-friendly information about installable optional devices that are not installed. <P>SOLUTION: The information providing program, which causes an information providing device to execute the processing of providing information about optional devices installable in a target apparatus, causes the information providing device to execute the processes of: acquiring information on the installation status of the optional devices in the target apparatus and determining uninstalled optional devices, which are installable optional devices that are not installed; determining whether or not the uninstalled optional devices can be additionally installed in the installation status in the target apparatus; and displaying images representing the uninstalled optional devices to a user such that the possibility or impossibility of addition can be identified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
