PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing seal with a magnetic encoder, which is of a novel back seal type for protecting the magnetic encoder while exhibiting a sealing function. SOLUTION: The bearing seal comprises a slinger 7 having a cylindrical portion 7a integrally fitted and mounted onto a rotation side member 2 and a collar portion 7b continuously provided at one end of the cylindrical portion 7a, a seal lip member 8 having seal lips 8a integrally fitted and mounted onto the fixation side member 3 and put in elastic sliding contact with the slinger 7, an annular multipolar magnet 10 attached to the counter bearing portion side face of the collar portion of the slinger 7, and a non-magnetic cover member 9 having a cylindrical portion 9a integrally fitted and mounted onto the rotation side member 2 and a collar portion 9b continuously provided at one end of the cylindrical portion 9a. The collar portion 9b of the cover member 9 has a radial width sized including a protruded collar portion 9c protruded from the peripheral edge of the annular multipolar magnet 10. A peripheral edge end face 9d of the protruded collar portion 9c is opposed to a peripheral face 8C of the seal lip member 8 to form a labyrinth (r) with the peripheral face 8C.
