PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple building allowing a combination of both a pergola and a roof fitted with a roof panel, capable of easily satisfying the demand of extending the rafter ahead of a beam to show the contour on the front side of the roof by the leading end of the rafter and the demand of realizing sufficient weathering even in the mounting of the roof panel, and achieving standardization of the rafter for cases of mounting the roof panel and not mounting the roof panel. SOLUTION: In this simple building 1, a rainwater discharge groove 15 is provided on the top surface of the beam 5 with a drainage function; a panel side-end retainer member 27 can be freely mounted in the arbitrary longitudinal position of the rafter 7; the rafter 7 is placed on the top surface of the beam; a panel leading-end placing member 11 is mounted on the top surface of the beam on the rear side with respect to an opening 15a of the rainwater discharge groove 15 between the rafters 7 and 7; and the roof panel 9 has a leading end 9a placed on the top surface of the panel leading-end placing member 11, and has both side portions placed and fixed on the panel side-end retainer member 27 mounted on the rafter 7.
