PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strainer apparatus capable of easily and surely preventing clogging of a strainer and reducing cleaning burdens. SOLUTION: The strainer apparatus 1 for removing foreign particles in a liquid by disposing a mesh-like strainer 5 in a cylindrical shape between a liquid inflow port 2 and an outflow port 3 is provided with a water wheel 6 coaxially and freely rotatably attached to the inside of the strainer 5 and having a plurality of blade parts 62. The water wheel 6 has brush-like scrapers 63 provided on the distal ends of the blade parts 62 and filters 62b provided so as to close parts between frames 62a constituting the blade parts 62, and rotation is regulated to only one direction.
