PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of waste for suppressing the variation of a purified gas amount in a gasification melting apparatus and stably supplying a purified gas. SOLUTION: In the method of treating solid waste using a gasification melting facility provided with the gasification melting apparatus for gasifying and melting the solid waste charged batchwise, the gasification melting apparatus is provided with an oxygen containing gas supplier, and the supply amount of an oxygen containing gas supplied to the gasification melting apparatus by the supplier is controlled so as to reduce an oxygen containing gas amount when charging the solid waste and gradually increase it thereafter.
