PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a shredder is very dangerous when a child inserts a hand to an insertion port for paper or the like when power is on or opens a front door and touches a cutter when the power is on since recently many shredders can be easily used by anyone. SOLUTION: A cover part 2 and the cutter 6 are loaded on a main body apparatus 1, and the front door is openably and closably provided on the front surface side of the apparatus main body 1. The cover part 2 is normally closed and it can not be opened unless an identification number is input. Additionally, the front door is provided with a paper discharge port sensor 11, the operation of the cutter 6 is stopped when it is sensed that the front door is opened, and the risk of getting injured is extremely reduced.
