Polyester insulation of woven or non-woven form, esp. using PET, is extended in range from class B to class F, i.e. allowing its use for slot insulation, by impregnation with polyarylesters. These are of halogenated divalent phenols either alone or mixed with non halogenated divalent phenols and acid dichlorides, esp. of terephthalic acid dichloride opt. with isophthalic acid dichloride.
