The handcart, e.g a sack trolley or wheelbarrow has a strap 6 preferably in two parts 6a, b with interengaging buckle elements 8a,8b extendable over the open top of its tray 1 for retaining a load secure in the tray 1. The two strap-parts 6a,6b can unwind in opposite directions from a spring-loaded reel bolted to the underside of the tray 1. Fittings bolted to opposite side-walls 12 of the tray 1 can be provided to restrain full return of the strap-parts 6a,b to the reel. One part of the strap can be wound on a spring-loaded reel clipped over a rim of the tray 1 on one side of the tray, and the other part is clipped to the rim on the other side. |
