The cylinder (10) has working piston (14) movable in a hollow cylinder (12) in an axial direction. A damping piston (34) stays in connection with the working piston and is movable relative to the working piston in the axial direction. A throttle opening, transversal opening and nozzle needle (52) are designed such that a cross section of flow is reduced based on the relative movement of the working piston to the damping piston up to reaching of the working piston position. The nozzle needle exhibits a continuously increasing cross section, which increases in the axial direction from its tip.
