<p>The dyes are of formula (in which F is the gp. of an azo or anthraquinone dye, free of -SO3M or -COOM gps., M is H, Na, K 1/2 Mg or 1/2 Ca, or ammonium and n is 1 or 2) and they are prepd. from dyes of formula F-(SO2-CH=CH2)n by addition of diethanolamine, and conversion of the dihydroxy cpds. obtd. to their di-sulphate esters. The dyes are suitable for dyeing and printing of synthetic fibres e.g. cellulose acetates, polyamides, polyurethanes or esp. polyester fibres; also for fibres contg. hyroxyl groups e.g. cellulose and esp. cotton in presence of acid bonding agents, and for wool and silk. They have excellent fastness to washing and perspiration.</p> |
