An audio/visual housing 2 comprises a casing 4 capable of receiving an audio/visual (e.g. television) unit 20 on a cantilever arm 22 which extends from one side of the casing and which is movable vertically between operative and inoperative positions, to move the unit between operative and inoperative positions relative to the casing. The audio/visual housing may be vertically movable on column 24 by means of one or more motor-driven 26 mechanisms (e.g. screw lift or rack and pinion), mounted to the side of the audio/visual unit, the lifting mechanism being generally in the plane of movement of the audio/visual unit. The housing may form the footboard of a bed or divan. |
