<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable method and device for decomposing a poly(L- lactic acid) and recovering monomeric lactic acid for recycling the poly(L-lactic acid). <P>SOLUTION: This method for recovering lactic acid as a monomer is provided by treating 1 pt.wt. poly(L-lactic acid) in a state of adding approximately 20 pts.mass water at a high temperature of 200-350°C for approximately 5-60 min. As an especially favorable condition, the L-lactic acid is recovered by≥90% yield at 250°C reaction temperature for approximately 10 min reaction time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
