Partitioning of a sports pitch 1 is by a lengthwise-dividing net-curtain 2 and sub-dividing net-curtains 4 extending laterally from it. Curtain 2 is clipped to a cable-run 7 which extends between masts 8,9 located outside opposite ends 10 of the pitch 1, and is maintained horizontal by being hung at spaced positions from a cable 11 strung between the masts 8,9. Brackets 12-16, are coupled in the cable-run 7 at these spaced positions, and cables 21 running from these brackets 12-16 to posts 5 outside the pitch 1, support the lateral curtains 4. Alternatively, longitudinal pitch-division is by two gates (41,42, Fig 4) that are hinged to respective lighting-posts (44,45, Fig 4) and close onto one another in mutual alignment. Each gate (44,45, Fig 4) is additionally supported at spaced positions along its length by cables (54,55, Fig 4) from its hinging post (44.45, Fig 4) and is formed by braced rectangular open-frame modules (46, Fig 4) bolted end to end with rebound boards (48, Fig 4) overlapping the module-joints (47, Fig 4). |
