The invention relates to a method of allocating power in a digital wireless communication network (100) by a radio network controller (RNC; 104) to a base station (node B; 114) for broadcasting data over multiple cells (124; 126) served by the base station (114), the method comprising:
- transmitting the data from the RNC (104) to the base station (114) using a single transport bearer (130),
- transmitting power control information from the RNC (104) to the base station (114) using the single transport bearer (130), the power control information specifying for each of the cells (124; 126) the individual transmission power being required for broadcasting the data.
