PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a magnetic card reader and to evade the risk of data destruction due to an erroneous decision by allowing the omission of the operation for deciding the magnetic coercive force. SOLUTION: Even in such either case that an actually inserted magnetic card 1 has high coercive force or low coercive force, the recording operation to the magnetic card 1 is executed by carrying out the re-recording operation using a low recording current after the recording operation using a high recording current so that the desired magnetic information is satisfactorily written without deciding whether the magnetic card is of high coercive force or low coercive force. |
