A mobile terminal and a character inputting method thereof are provided to display a special character necessary to write an SMS and input the displayed character by using a wheel key. A character input screen is displayed. If a predetermined key related to a special character input is inputted, a special characters list is displayed on a character input screen. One or more special character is selected. The selected special character is inputted on the character input screen. The special character list is displayed on the character input screen by overlaying the screen. |
